Category: Application security - (DAST)
Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) is a specific subset of application testing where technologies are utilized that analyze an active, running application for any type of security vulnerability. DAST testing is most suited to web type applications surrounding HTTP type interfaces although testing may extend to IP protocol type interfaces too. This type of testing is most similar to real-world hacking techniques, as seen in production applications connected to untrusted networks.
